Serial Intercessor - Christopher Pauchay

The story is so tragic that I can not link it. You don't need to know the details other than two toddlers, ages 3 and 1, were found frozen to death in a Saskatchewan field wearing only t-shirts and diapers. It's not a news item, it's a horror story. The girls 25 year old father, Christopher Pauchay was passed out drunk at the next door neighbours house while the two little girls wandered around outside in -50 C windchill.

I guess it's human nature that the overwhelming attitdue is disgust for Mr. Paulchay. That he would neglect two precious little girls and let them die in such a horrible way. I am not part of the majority. No one needs to tell Christopher Pauchay anything, he will be living in hell for the remainder of his days on this earth. I'm praying for Paulchay. I can't for one second imagine the guilt that he has to be feeling tonight. The guilt that will plague him forever. What I do know is that Jesus has enough mercy to forgive me and He has the mercy to forgive Christopher Pauchay. Please join me in prayer for the families of the girls. Please pray for Christopher Pauchay, he really has nothing left in this world.

What a sad, heart wrenching story. I will stand in agreement with you for this man. God loves him so much.

I think I will disappoint you Pilgrim when I say that I cannot. Only massive hearted people can think as you and Monday do. I am sorry for his sorrow, but there is no excuse for child neglect or abuse. God will forgive him, I know and part of the deal is that I forgive sin too. I am not big enough to do that always but I thank God that He isand that He loves us all no matter what.

I have thought that maybe I need not have commented on this, that I could have just passed over it and said nothing. It would have been more peaceful, and certainly more polite...but I felt comfortable enough here to say what I think. I hope you can see that and I hold you and Monday in respect for your hearts.

That is so sad. He does need prayer.

Thank you all for your comments. I was hesitant to post it. This site has dozens of posts saved to draft that I don't feel comfortable publishing for fear of offending.

Sian, thank you for your candor. Obviously you understood my point and for that I'm grateful. I don't think any less of you for being honest. I think one of the biggest failings of the Church is open admissions of how we really feel for fear ob being ostracized. I know I am. No, I don't think any less of yuo rather I repect you all the more.

You ALL should be ASHAMED of yourselves!!! Especially Pilgrim!!! Pilgrim you state that we don't need to know the details...??? WRONG!!! People DO need to know the details!!!!! Without the details no one will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH is you have intentionally omitted VITAL details in order to suit YOUR agenda!!!
Here is the TRUTH: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080130.wsaskgirl0130/BNStory/National with FULL DETAILS which proves Pilgrim and the rest of you are WRONG in condemning Pauchay!!!! Pauchay was NOT passed out drunk at the next door neighbors house while the two little girls wandered around outside in -50 C windchill. This is a bold faced lie you have perpetrated Pilgrim, and if your precious god or Jesus exists then they will definitely be putting a black mark next to your name!! Pauchay was seeking HELP for one of his daughters because there was something terribly wrong with her that terrified him!!!!!! What did you expect him to do? Sit there while his daughter possibly died from what was wrong? Leave the home for help and leave the girls there alone??? He had no phone or vehicle and he did what he could to try and get his daughter HELP!!!!!!
You wanna be so upset with someone and condemn them? Then how about taking a look at the MOTHER of the children who LEFT the children in the care of the father who she KNEW was intoxicated!!!!!!!!
Pilgrim, you say Jesus has enough mercy to forgive you and Pauchay. I say if there was a god or Jesus then he would have had enough mercy to save those little girls and would not have made the daughter so ill that the father had to endanger himself and his children to seek help. If there were a god or Jesus he would have enough mercy that the Pauchay family wouldn't have been living in the environment they were in in the first place. So in keeping with your belief of God and Jesus Pilgrim, then after you rightfully lay blame with the mother of the girls then turn right around and lay blame on your precious God and Jesus as well because in the end if they exist then they not only allowed this tragedy to happen they CAUSED IT!!!!!

papajohn, the "blame" in this situation belongs to Mr. Pauchay and his wife, as well as the community for not properly addressing the alcohol problem on the reserve, and social services for allowing these people to have those kids.
I also live outside Saskatoon, and i remember that night. It was easily the coldest night of the year, and i didnt even leave my dog outside. Obviously he was so drunk that he must not have known what was going on, or else he would've realized maybe his kids needed more than tshirts and diapers on. In this state, he would never have been able to determine if there was an emergency with one of the girls, let alone have the thought process to get them help. Personally, i believe he was trying to go to his neighbor's house to party more. But of course he would have to make up some story about being concerned about something, otherwise what he did is probably one of the stupidest things i have ever heard of.
If this same thing were to happen in a community of any other race, it would be murder, and there would be no sympathy. It really makes me angry when i see this time and time again. native children being abused and neglected all because of alcohol. There are plenty of resources available to help people with alcoholism, and it's funny how people have no problem going to rehab to get out of going to jail, but not to protect their children. Anyone who lives in and around Saskatoon knows exactly what I'm talking about but of course it is racist to say.
Bottom line? This guy took his children out in unbearable conditions wearing only diapers and tshirts. I wonder what he had on? He dropped them in the field one at a time, they would have frozen withing minutes. He dropped them so that he could make it. He should get first degree murder, but then he'd probably just get sent to some native rehab facility. Maybe someday the native people of canada will have to take responsibility for themselves instead of blaming the world, and then we would all be better off.

also, God didnt cause this. He used his free will to kill his children

PapaJohn said...

That has got to be some of the most racist bullcrap I have ever read!!!!!!
First I'll address the god bullcrap. Isn't it funny how all you god freaks come up with some excuse NOT to blame god for something bad yet everything good is because of him. LMFAO what a crock!!!!! Chris did NOT freely kill his children!!! Look up the definition of free will. If he used free will it would have been using a gun to willfully kill them or a knife or some other weapon or his hands.
Apparently you failed to read the TRUTH. He did indeed wrap one of the girls in his own jacket and the other in a blanket.
In his state he wouldn't have been able to know an emergency???? So how old were you when you had that lobotomy anyway??? You don't even know what state he was in!!!! And even someone very intoxicated can tell if a child is in distress. The neighbor even told the police he was terrified for his daughter. Have you ever been in a situation like that??? I doubt it. I doubt you're even intelligent enough to procreate. I HAVE been in that situation. When our oldest son was six months old we moved into a new house. The day we moved in we had no idea there was a base board heater with a live wire sticking out of it. While I was getting dressed our son touched the wire and was electrocuted. Because we just moved in we had no phone. I was terrified and desperate for help. I grabbed our son up in my arms and ran out the door and ran down the street in nothing but my underwear screaming for help. So you see Anonymous, people do strange things when they are in extreme states of fear, especially over a child. It happens all the time.
Personally, what you believe don't mean squat!!!! The FACTS prove you WRONG!!!!! As for making up excuses... I'd bet a years salary you're one of these whack jobs who support Andrea Yates and her bullcrap postpartum depression excuse for killing her five kids. Which actually brings us to your next comment about this happening anywhere else... Look up Andrea Yates and many other mothers who killed their kids. I got a perfect one for you to look up. Dena Schlosser. You'll LOVE her and I bet you'll support her 100% too. Cause she killed her daughter cause god told her to. Guess what... She got off. Found not guilty by insanity. Used some bullcrap excuse about god and got off. And guess what. Not on a reserve. She's as white as snow. So your bullcrap racist comments don't mean squat!!!!!
Native children aren't the only ones abused or neglected. More often it wealthy people who neglect their kids by leaving them with nannies all the time or shipping them off to boarding schools and crap. Wealthy WHITE people!!!!!!!!
Chris did NOT drop the kids one at a time so he could make it!!!!! Like I said, RESEARCH!!!! The net is a wonderful thing full of information, facts and details of the truth!!!! Chris was carrying the youngest girl. The older was following behind him. Experts testified that in that cold it would only take less than 2 minutes for a person to freeze to the point their extremities would lose function. Chris' arms and hands probably became so frozen he couldn't carry the girl any more but continued on to try and get help.
You say the Natives will have to take responsibility??? How about the Government????? They throw money at immigrants like it's water or sand or something, give them a free house, a free vehicle, and many other things CANADIANS don't even have or can't afford. Yet they allow actual Canadians to starve in the streets.
Maybe someday you'll pull your racist head out of your racist ass and realize the poisonous hateful garbage you spew is all lies.

PapaJohn is an idiot, even with the full details he has still left his two daughters unwatched and unattended. The man will now rot in prison and then in hell.

I can relate to this in a way maybe lots of you can't. I was living in Saskatchewan at the time of the incident. I had left my abusive, alcoholic, repeat-offender, and (incidentally)Aboriginal husband that July. My daughters were the same ages as these two girls, and I could look at the pictures and imagine what might have happened to my two daughters if I'd stayed with their father and he had a chance to "prioritize" while caring for them, and decide the alcohol was simply more important. Trust me, it may be an addiction but it also is a choice. This man had options for the care of those children that he obviously never tried or didn't try hard enough. Why? Because abusive drunks try to control their terrorized parners through the childen. This lesson was driven home for me when my husband, drunk, took my daughter hostage and I had to get the cops to make him let her go. That was the time I left him.

You may think that he's created his own hell, but from what I can tell by experience, it is never enough. The light never goes off, the bottom is never hit, and death to themselves is likely the only thing that would stop it....Now miracles do happen, but I don't believe so in this case.

He still won't call it anything but an accident. Was it an accident when he chose to drink, knowing his history, while also knowing he had little girls to care for? Was it an accident that he ignored the fact that he had 51 prior convictions for alcohol related crimes when deciding not to give his children into the care of someone capable of looking after them? Trust me, the convictions are just the tip of the iceberg. He's likely been terrorizing everyone around him for years, but they never turned him in for most of it.

The nail in the coffin for me is that he hasn't stopped drinking. My God! You kill your kids through drinking and you don't stop, and I am supposed to think this man belongs anywhere but jail?

A sentencing circle will only give this man a chance to blame everyone around him, since he's said he doesn't consider what he did a crime and he doesn't believe in punishement for such things. He thinks he's been punished enough. Well buddy, I think that if you are on the streets, it's only a matter of time before you do something as bad or worse....though it's hard to imagine it getting worse!

Also....PapaJohn, you criticized for twisting the facts to suit someone else's agenda. I believe you've done this yourself. Pauchay did take the girls out to get help because one of them was wounded. This is true. However, the wound was caused by the knives he compulsively stashed all over the house and on his person through his drunken paranoia. She cut herself on a knife he had under the couch. The wound was not life-threatening, but taking her out in those conditions can be within minutes, as anyone from Saskatchewan knows. You can die within close sight of your house in weather like that. You just lay down and fall asleep from hypothermia. Also, if he was so altruistically seeking help for his girl, could he not have put on their clothes so they stood the remotest chance. He managed to get his own jacket etc. on but left their clothing by the door of the house.

So if I "accidently killed" my children because I was drunk I think I would have give up drinking FOREVER!!! Why in the hell was he in the bar the other day....arrested now and back in jail right where he belongs!!

Well I've got to say I agree with PoppaJohn the most out of all of you. Everyone talks about religion and how "GOD" works in mysterious ways. Give me a break. Don't you think that after all this time we would have some evidence that the "Son of God" existed. I firmly believe people who are religious use it as an excuse to cover guilt for actions that have already been taken. It is time to stop hiding behind religion for a safety net. Do I believe this man should go to jail. You bet! If he was a white male with the same problems and did this, he would be doing time. There is a problem on the reserves in Canada. The goverment has to stop throwing money at the propblem and make the native people of canada part of the solution. I believe the whole reserve is at fault on this one, especially the mother. These people needed help, everyone in there family knew it, and they still left the girls with one intoxicated parent knowing the mother was not even there. I've been reading quite a bit about this story and can't believe the "community" is recommending no jail time. I think the mother should be charged as well for leaving her children there knowing very well the situation the children were being left in. I think this is a disgrace to the justice system of Cananda. Why do we have such a hard time convicting natives for crimes they commit. Can you imagine again if Chris was a white guy living in a trailer park. He would be hung out to dry and recieve "counselling" in jail for his addictions. I think that if you want all the benefits of living in a Canadian society, you should also have to pay the price for stepping outside of that societies rules. We don't have a perfect goverment by any means. We all know there are enough programs in place to help any Canadian with addictions. It is a very sad story and a tragedy what happened to these girls. I just think there are alot more people in the community that could have helped this family. They have the resoureces. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. I think that all you guys that are religiuos on this site are nuts. I agree with Poppa John for the most part. Keep your religion to yourself when it comes to defending someting or someone and study the facts.

man you should let him be free with his other child well he suffered enough cant you guys see that it wasnt his fault ok well this is his niece!!

Accident or not, it still happened. There are many issues that need to be addressed. I agree and disagree with many people who have commented on this blog, but I hope we can all agree that alcohol is the demon to be blamed the most, and until the widespeard problem of alcohol abuse is dealt with in this province, situations like this will continue to happen.

Do I think he needs to be punished for the actions that caused the death of his beautiful children, yes I do. Those children need their own justice and I think that is the way for them to get it. I also hope that he can get some counselling and some rehabilitation and can turn his life around once his sentence is complete. That will be the best justice his children can receive.

yes it was a horrible way for those little girls to die,but Jesus was sent by our Heavenly Father to die on the cross for the sins of ALL MAN KIND,for God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.don't judge lest you be judged yourselves...

wat the hell is wrong with you white people and rasism to the natives??? man it wasnt his fault and i know he loved his daughters lots doesnt give you the right to say mean shit about the native and their aboriginal circles cause you guys dont know shit!!! aight!!

Anonymous said...

PoppaJohn there is a difference between someone who is insane and someone who is an alcolholic. People can be born with mental disabilities, however this guy white or native decided to get drunk and as a result of his stupidity his kids died. Has he suffered enough? NO HE HAS NOT!!! It is to bad that Canada does not have capital punishment because he deserves the fate that he delivered to his children. I don't care how scared you are for anything you still know that winter ware is needed in weather like this. Don't give me this BS that we should leave him alone. I hope he never gets the chance to forget this. I think that he should rot in jail for the rest of his life. At least there he won't be able to kill anyone else!!! And good god for the niece of this man please you are an embarrassment to yourself get a grip!

Anonymous said...

I think capital punishment is taking things too far. Again, as I said before, let's deal with the real issue here, and that is alcoholism. It is a problem in this province and race does not play a role.

As a native person myself, I get very angry when people throw out the race card. This is not the case. It wouldn't matter if Christopher was white, black, native, etc, he deserves to be punished in some way because the bottom line is that his actions caused the death of two children.

I don't care who you are or what race you are... if you are an alcoholic, or substance abuser... gambling addict... get yourself some help so that an event like this does not repeat itself.

Anonymous said...

Blame alcoholism if you think that is going to make yourself feel better. The real issue is him being a child killer!!! HE MADE A CHOICE AND AS A RESULT CHILDREN DIED. THROW AWAY THE KEY

Anonymous said...

Tiffanie,

Who do you think should be blamed for the death of Chris's daughters? He is the only one to blame.

Your uncle is no angel. He has had over 50 charges laid against him since he was 14 years old, not including the most recent ones, has apparently already been in rehab once six years ago and even after the death of his children still got arrested sitting in the bar drinking. It's not that he can't stop drinking, he just doesn't want to.

The sentence he got is far too short for causing the death of his girls. He needs to be removed from the community for a long time so he can dry out and get his act together.

It has nothing to do with race...it has to do with a man killing his children because of his drinking and he needs to learn how to be a responsible adult and grow up.

He still has to face a bunch more charges in July and hopefully that will keep him locked up a little longer so he can get his act together.

I am sick of reading how this father has the punishment of living with the guilt for the rest of his life. The judge in the case stated the father showed no remorse and refused to accept responsibility for the death of his children. This man should be locked up for a very long time and never have custody of his other child (or future children). I also agree with others who think that we are too easy on native criminals. Time to start acting as a productive, caring and responsible part of our country and stop passing blame for their actions.
